The French giants are interested in signing Real Madrid flop Eden Hazard in a swap deal involving Canadian striker Jonathan David.

Ligue 1 giants Lille are plotting an ambitious swoop for Real Madrid star Eden Hazard.

According to Sport Bible, Lille want to sign the Belgian talisman in a swap deal involving their star striker Jonathan David.

Hazard has endured a miserable spell at Santiago Bernabeu, failing to replicate his Chelsea form due to a string of injuries.

Los Blancos are open to selling the former Chelsea star, as they want to make way for potential targets Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.

Hazard spent his formative years at Lille, making around 200 appearances before moving to Stamford Bridge.

Lille are now interested in re-signing their former star at the expense of Jonathan David, who has been in stellar form in Ligue 1 this season.

The Canadian youngster has racked up 12 goals this season and he is currently topping the Ligue 1 scoring charts ahead of Kylian Mbappe and Wissam Ben Yedder.

With David likely to leave at the end of this season, the Ligue 1 champions want to make full use of his departure.

However, it remains to be seen whether Los Blancos would accept David since their primary target turns out to be PSG star Mbappe.

Besides, Vinicius Junior appears to be untouchable due to his stellar form in Ligue 1 this season.

Furthermore, Karim Benzema is in the form of his life and it would take some doing for David to replace him at Bernabeu.
