Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier has been linked with a move away from the Spanish La Liga club for months now.

The England international was heavily linked with Manchester United during the summer transfer window but a move never materialised in the end.

According to 90 minutes, nine Premier League clubs are now keen on signing the defender and they have already made inquiries to Atletico Madrid regarding a January transfer.

Newcastle United are very keen on signing the right-back and they are prepared to offer him a massive contract word around £150,000 a week. Apparently, Eddie Howe is a huge fan of Trippier.

The defender’s boyhood club Manchester United remain keen on him and his former club Tottenham are also keeping tabs on the defender’s situation.

Other Premier League clubs interested in the defender are Aston Villa, Crystal Palace Everton, and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 31-year-old could prove to be an excellent addition for the likes of Newcastle and Manchester United during the second half of the season.

Newcastle will have to improve defensively in order to beat relegation this season and Trippier would be a superb acquisition.

Furthermore, Manchester United need a full back who can contribute in the final third as well and Trippier would be an upgrade on Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The 31-year-old England international is excellent going forward and his contribution from set-pieces will add a new dimension to the Manchester United attack.

It will be interesting to see if Atletico Madrid are willing to weaken their squad during the January transfer window and sanction the departure of the England international.
