Lionel Messi has asked Barcelona to fulfil three conditions before a new deal can be signed

Lionel Messi-Barcelona

Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has been linked with a move away from the club in the summer but it appears that the Argentine is open to committing his future to the Catalan giants, if his demands are met.

Messi has put forward a list of demands to the newly appointed club president Joan Laporta.

It will be interesting to see if Laporta can fulfil his demands and convince the Argentine to sign a new contract with the club.

Apparently, Messi has three conditions before the new deal can be signed.

The Barcelona superstar wants a competitive squad with a sensible transfer plan

Messi wants the club to complete sensible signings like Eric Garcia on a free transfer and he is also looking for at least one marquee signing that can help the squad improve immensely.

Barcelona have been linked with the likes of Erling Haaland recently.

Meanwhile, Messi has also demanded that the club continues to rely on talented young players.

The likes of Ansu Fati, Ilaix Moriba and Pedri have come through from the Academy this season and Messi wants the club hierarchy to develop them and build the side around them.

Finally, the Barcelona superstar wants a direct line of communication with the club president and the manager.

Apparently, the player found it difficult to communicate with the previous managers but he has enjoyed a reciprocal relationship with Ronald Koeman so far.

Messi would like to enjoy a similar harmonious relationship with the club hierarchy as well.
