Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni has been linked with a move away from the French club for months now.

According to a report from AthleticReal Madrid have now reached a verbal agreement to sign the talented young French international, who is set to join in a deal worth around €100m.

The 22-year-old is considered as one of the finest midfield talents in the game and he has a massive future ahead of him.

Tchouameni could prove to be a quality long term acquisition for Los Blancos.

The player was linked with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool as well but it seems that Real Madrid have managed to outmuscle them financially.

The Spanish giants needed to bring in midfield reinforcements, especially with the likes of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in the twilight years of their careers.

Carlo Ancelotti managed to bring in a prodigious young talent in Eduardo Camavinga at the start of last season and the signing of Tchouameni should sort out Real Madrid’s midfield for the foreseeable future.

The 22-year-old has had an exceptional season with Monaco and he has established himself as a first-team player for his country as well.

There is no doubt that he has the quality and the potential to justify the €100m outlay in the long run.

The player was reportedly keen on joining the Spanish La Liga giants and therefore his other suitors had to back out eventually.

Given his price tag, expectations will be sky-high for the young Frenchman and it remains to be seen whether he can adapt to Spanish football quickly and make an immediate impact.

The Monaco midfielder is naturally a box to box midfielder who will help out defensively and contribute in the final third as well.

He has the physicality and the technical ability to succeed in Spanish football and working with a top-class manager like Carlo Ancelotti will only help him improve his game.
