Major exodus on the cards

Real Madrid recently crashed out of the Champions League semi-finals against Chelsea, but they still have a chance of winning the Spanish League this season.

However, it appears that manager Zinedine Zidane is frustrated with events outside of his control. First the financial situation due to COVID-19. He had many players suffering from injuries. The quality of his side has been such that Lineker termed it weakest Real Madrid team of his time.

Zidane even did not have enough resource to rebuild, and had to be contained with Los Blancos of last decade. Still, Zidane’s side was two wins away from fourth European crown.

Perez has toughest of the jobs in his entire life on hand, which is to rebuild Los Blancos during this financial condition. Zidane will need time and money to oversee the rebuild, and it remains to be seen whether the Spanish outfit can plug the necessary gaps in their squad amid the financial crisis.

Zidane has a contract with Real Madrid until the summer of 2022, and it will be interesting to see if the Spanish outfit can hold onto him until then. There is no doubt that the Frenchman has done an excellent job at Real Madrid, but the squad is in need of a major rebuild if they are to continue challenging for major trophies.

Eden Hazard, Marcelo and Isco could be sold

Meanwhile, the Spanish outfit looks to get rid of Eden Hazard, Marcelo and Isco this summer.

According to reports, all three players are expendables, and they are not in the club’s plans for next season.

However, the Spanish outfit is aware that it won’t be easy offloading the three players because of their high salaries.

Several other players like Gareth Bale, Luka Jovic, Martin Odegaard and Dani Ceballos are currently out on loan. It will be interesting to see if the Spanish outfit decides to cash in on them as well.

Real Madrid will be looking to raise funds for summer transfers, and selling their fringe players will be a top priority for them at the end of this season.
