PSG move ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo-Juventus

Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a move away from the Italian club at the end of this season, and he has recently been tipped with a return to Manchester United.

As per reports, French outfit Paris Saint-Germain are keen on signing the 36-year-old forward as well, and they have apparently moved ahead of the Red Devils in the chase.

Whoever ends up signing Ronaldo this summer will have to be prepared for short term impact.

It will be interesting to see where the Portuguese international ends up eventually.

There is no doubt that he’s a top-class player who could improve the likes of PSG and Manchester United immensely next season, but he will be an expensive and short term signing for both sides.

As far as Manchester United are concerned, it would be wise of them to invest in a younger player. They need a long term solution to their attacking problem, and Ronaldo might not be a good investment for them.

Meanwhile, PSG have two excellent attackers in Neymar and Mbappe, and Ronaldo could complete their front three.

The Juventus star will probably be a better fit for PSG than Manchester United. The French outfit are missing a top-class finisher who can lead the line, and Ronaldo would be an ideal fit for them.

Manchester United need someone who can contribute creatively as well, and Cristiano is more suited to the poacher’s role at this stage of his career.

Furthermore, he will command considerable wages, and Manchester United might struggle to accommodate that in the middle of a pandemic. They have other areas they need to strengthen as well, and they cannot afford to spend a significant chunk of their budget on one player.

Cristiano Ronaldo will leave for PSG or Manchester United if Juventus miss the Champions League, according to Tuttosport
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 97 goals for Juventus, 85 of those goals came when the score was 0-0, 1-0, 2-0 or when the team was losing. Context is important.
