Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez could be heading to Atletico Madrid this summer.
The Colombian has fallen out of favour at Santiago Bernabeu and he has been linked with a move to Diego Simeone’s side.
Apparently, Atletico Madrid can sign him for a fee of around £13.5million.
Rodriguez is a top-class player on his day and he could prove to be a good addition to Atletico’s attack. He will add flair, goals and creativity to the side.
He is an excellent set-piece taker as well and that will add a new dimension to the La Liga outfit’s play.
Rodriguez just needs some time and help to regain his form and confidence. Simeone could be the man to unlock his form and resurrect his career once again.
He hasn’t been a regular started at Real Madrid for a while now and he needs to join a club where he can play regular first-team football. If Atletico can guarantee him game time, it could be a fantastic move for him.
He would get to stay in Madrid and he would be playing at a high level with a club that is capable of challenging for the big trophies.
It will be interesting to see if Atletico can get the deal done now.
It won’t be easy working out a deal with their bitter rivals but the transfer would benefit all three parties and Real Madrid are unlikely to oppose the sale of an unwanted player who is on high wages.
