Pochettino has offered his thoughts on Messi’s PSG links.

PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino has shared his thoughts on a potential summer move for Lionel Messi, who has recently severed ties with Barcelona.

Ever since the Catalan club’s announcement of Messi’s departure, multiple reports have been suggesting that the Argentine would move to the French Capital club.

It was also reported that the 34-year-old had contacted his compatriot Pochettino to discuss a potential transfer.

Now, Pochettino has weighed in on the speculations, stating that Les Parisiens are closely keeping tabs on Messi’s situation.

Pochettino said: “A player of Messi’s calibre, that is what is interesting to me. The club are working on several options.

“We know about what happened yesterday. The club is working on the transfer window and on the elements that could come in to improve the team and allow us to achieve our goals.”

Pochettino also insisted that Kylian Mbappe‘s future wouldn’t be affected by the potential arrival of Messi.

Rumours were having it that the French World Cup winner could be shown the exit doors should Messi sign for Les Parisiens.

The former Spurs gaffer added: “I have not spoken with [Messi]. “And [any move] would not mean that Kylian would leave.”

Mbappe looks to play out the final year of his contract at Parc des Princes despite continuous interest from Real Madrid.

Famous Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has continuously claimed that Messi has chosen PSG as his next destination, with Neymar putting pressure on Les Parisiens board to secure the deal. The Brazilian is dreaming of a reunion with his long-time friend and former Barca teammate Messi.
