Newcastle are thought to be keeping tabs on the Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.
The Premier League ace has been linked with a move away from Palace for a while now and it will be interesting to see if he gets his move this summer.
As per reports, Newcastle will move for him if their takeover goes through.
The Magpies are in the middle of a £300m takeover right now and their new owners are expected to spend heavily on new players once the formalities are complete.
Zaha is a quality player and he would certainly improve Newcastle but it would be a strange signing for the Magpies.
They already have a talented left winger in Saint-Maximin and Zaha plays a similar role. The Magpies are better off investing in a quality striker and a quality playmaker.
It will be interesting to see what happens when the window reopens.
The likes of Joelinton have failed to deliver this season and Newcastle must direct their resources towards a top class goalscorer.
They have been linked with the likes of Cavani and Griezmann in the recent months.
Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard is thought to be on their radar as well.
Zaha’s quality is beyond doubt but he would be an unnecessary investment for Newcastle right now. A right sided winger would be more useful for them.
The 27-year-old Palace star is valued at around £60m and there are better value for money signings out there.
Newcastle must look to invest their money wisely instead of stockpiling talent.
