Liverpool winger Sadio Mane scored his hundredth goal for the Reds at the weekend against Crystal Palace.
The Senegalese international became the 18th player to score 100 or more goals for the club.
The 29-year-old has helped Liverpool win the Premier League title and the Champions League since joining the club from Southampton in 2016 and he has undoubtedly established himself as a club legend.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp heaped praise on Mane after he achieved the incredible feat with his strike against Palace.
The German explained that Sadio Mane has worked incredibly hard in all areas of the game and not just his goalscoring.
The winger has helped his side out defensively time and again and his pressing ability has proven to be invaluable for the Premier League side.
Furthermore, Mane has created numerous chances for his teammates with his flair and pace.
“People forget around these 100 goals he worked incredibly hard, defended for us, pressed high, counter-pressed, created goals, set up chances, so the 100 goals are just one, there are so many numbers that are important,” said Klopp.
The Senegalese international has now drawn level with club legends like Kevin Keegan and he has done so in 99 fewer games.
The African will now hope to break into the list of top ten goal scorers in Liverpool history before bringing down the curtains on an illustrious career at Anfield.
The 29-year-old had a difficult season with Liverpool last year as the Reds struggled to defend their Premier League title because of numerous injury problems.
The Senegalese international is still not at his best but he has looked sharper and fresher after a proper summer rest.
It will be interesting to see if he can recapture his peak form in the coming weeks and help the Reds to more silverware this season.
