Rafael Leao’s contract expires in 2023, and the situation for Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino is quite the same in Liverpool. Several clubs, including Jurgen Klopp’s side, are reportedly keeping tabs on other forwards.

Leo was previously labelled ‘spectacular’ by former Manchester City striker Rolando Bianchi. Bianchi considered the striker to be better than Ronaldo. Hence, Liverpool and Man City are in a hustle to win his signature.

The 22-year-old is one of the best players in the history of the Sporting academy. Leao came through the ranks at Sporting Lisbon, the same club that produced Cristiano Ronaldo. Tiago Fernandes, his coach there, proudly claims that he’s the club’s best-ever academy product.

Tiago said to Goal, “I met him when he was 14, and few people understood his playing style.”

“He was doing things with the ball that no one could do. He’s the best player in the history of the Sporting academy.”

According to TBR Football, Leao scored 14 goals and provided 12 assists in all competitions for Milan last season. In Serie A, He got 11 goals and 10 assists en route to the 2021-22 Scudetto.

However, despite attracting big potential suitors, AC Milan didn’t show any hint of negotiating for their player.

“We consider Rafael Leao a key, untouchable player,” Paolo Maldini told Gazzetta dello Sport, via Footmercato.

“He is not for sale.”

There is also a talk from the French outlet that he will be worth over €100m (£85m).
