Thiago Silva and the tragic incident which almost took his life in Russia

Thiago Silva-Thomas Tuchel-Chelsea

Thiago Silva has been playing at the highest level for over a decade and his current spell at  Chelsea has also been a smooth ride so far.

We all know that Silva is one of the exceptional centre-backs of his generation and his time with French giants PSG is the most productive of his career as he led them to a plethora of domestic titles. Whilst being an intelligent defender on and off the ball, his leadership qualities make him a head and shoulder above some of his peers.

But there was an incident early in his youth which he doesn’t want to recall at any moment. Even before he broke into stardom, Silva fought with death while he was admitted to a hospital in Russia for the treatment of Tuberculosis. Later the doctors also revealed that Silva would have died if he had been two weeks late to the hospital.

The 35-year-old initially fired that he wouldn’t have the privilege of wearing the football boots again but luckily, he quickly rose through the ranks before making the leap to AC Milan.

The incident might still haunt Silva at times but he can be happy with his football career, which could be matched only by a few.

Despite in the twilight of his career, Silva has been able to give his best to the Chelsea side but unfortunately, Thomas Tuchel has to wait for a while before the Brazilian recovers from the injury.
