Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Belgian midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga.

According to reports, the midfielder is undergoing medicals with the London club, and he is set to join in a deal worth around €17 million.

The highly talented midfielder will sign a five-year contract with the Premier League side, and Arsenal will now pursue the French international midfielder Houssem Aouar.

The Gunners need to add more creativity and depth to their midfield, and the signing of the 23-year-old Lyon midfielder could prove to be smart business.

Houssem Aouar is highly rated in France, and he has the potential to develop into one of the best midfielders in the world.

Furthermore, the Gunners are expected to lose Granite Xhaka to Roma, and therefore Lokonga has been signed as his long term replacement.

AnderlechtAnderlechtThe 21-year-old has been a key player for Anderlecht in recent seasons, and it will be interesting to see if he can adapt to English football quickly and make an immediate impact at Arsenal next season.

The Gunners seem pretty active in the transfer market this summer, and it is understandable after the kind of season they had last year.

Arsenal have missed out on Champions League football once again, and for a club of their stature, it is simply unacceptable.

Mikel Arteta will be desperate to guide his side back into the Champions League, and he will need proper reinforcements for that to happen.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for the Brighton and Hove Albion defender Ben White as well, and it will be interesting to see if they can wrap up the signings of Aouar and White in the coming weeks now.
