Liverpool are looking to agree on a long term contract with Brazilian international Alisson.
The 28-year-old goalkeeper joined the Reds back in 2018 for a fee of around £66 million but he has been outstanding for the Merseyside club since then.
The 28-year-old managed to win the golden glove in the Premier League, the Copa America 2021 and the Champions League during his debut campaign at Liverpool.
Alisson has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world and he has helped Liverpool win the Premier League title and the Champions League.
There is no doubt that the Brazilian international is one of the best players at the club and the Reds must do everything in their power to keep him at the club for as long as possible.
According to reports, Liverpool are in the final stages of an agreement with Alisson and the player is set to commit his long term future to the club soon.
The news of Alisson’s contract extension will come as a major boost for the whole club and the fanbase.
It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can tie down the likes of Mohamed Salah, Fabinho and Virgil van Dijk to new deals in the coming months.
The Reds will be hoping to win the Premier League title once again and they will need to keep the core of their squad intact in order to do so.
Apparently, the announcement of Alisson’s contract extension could be made in the next few weeks and the new deal will keep him at Anfield until the summer of 2026.
The Brazilian is at the peak of his powers right now and he has his best years ahead of him.
There is no doubt that Alisson will be the club’s number one shot-stopper for the foreseeable future.
