Manchester United crashed to a 5-0 defeat at home to Liverpool in the Premier League yesterday and the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and David De Gea have taken the social media to share their reactions after the game.

The Red Devils were comprehensively beaten and humiliated at Old Trafford and Cristiano Ronaldo admitted that the defeat is on the players and there is no one else to blame for the result.

He also thanked the Manchester United fans for their amazing and constant support and revealed that they deserve much better and the players will have to step up and deliver now.

Meanwhile, David De Gea claimed that he feels the pain of the Manchester United supporters and the players will not accept this performance.

Ronaldo said: “Sometimes the result is not the one we fight for. Sometimes the score is not the one we want. And this is on us, only on us, because there’s no one else to blame.

“Our fans were, once again, amazing in their constant support. They deserve better than this, much better, and it’s up to us to deliver. The time is now!”

In other news former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has shared his reaction to the Old Trafford embarrassment as Liverpool picked up a thumping victory over their bitter rivals.

Neville claimed that yesterday’s defeat was a monstrous day for the club and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team were obliterated and the performance was simply unacceptable.

The club legend also added that the Red Devils took an absolute battering against Liverpool and the pressure on the players and the manager after the defeat will be immense.

Neville said to Sky Sports: “The pressure after this game is going to be intolerable in some quarters.

“The board have made everyone aware that they are steadfast in their support of the manager and that he stays. Results like this undermine that, there’s no doubt. This is sobering.

“Manchester United need to change. I believe Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is going to get the opportunity to change. But there is going to be pressure from every source.

“There’s no doubt the manager will get an absolute battering. There will be calls for his head like you wouldn’t believe but you wonder what this defeat will do to the players. How will they pick themselves up?

“There’s no hiding place after this. United are going to be absolutely demoralised. The next 24 hours is going to be as hot as it has ever been at this football club.”

Solskjaer was already under pressure heading into Sunday’s game and it will be interesting to see how the result affects his future.
