Marcelo Bielsa, Manager of Leeds United

Leeds United were planning to replace Marcelo Bielsa with Eddie Howe if the Argentine had decided to leave the club this summer.

Bielsa helped Leeds United return to the Premier League after 16 years and his contract situation meant that there were speculations surrounding his future at Elland Road.

However, it seems that the two parties have worked out a solution and Bielsa is likely to sign a new contract with Leeds United soon.

Eddie Howe was being looked at as a potential replacement. The talented young manager did a good job at Bournemouth and he could have been a decent appointment.

However, Bielsa is clearly the better manager and it would have been a major blow for Leeds if he had decided to move on.

The Argentine manager has proven his quality in multiple leagues and he has managed at the international level as well. His experience, philosophy, tactical nous is on a different level compared to that of Eddie Howe.

Howe has now left Bournemouth and it will be interesting to see where he ends up next.

There is no doubt that he’s a talented manager and he has a big future ahead of him. However, he needs more experience to manage big clubs like Leeds United where there is immense pressure.

Bielsa has been a perfect fit for Leeds United so far and fans have taken to him as well.

Furthermore, his style of play has added a new identity to the club and it will be interesting to see if he can help them succeed in the Premier League next season.
