Arsenal to make £50 million bid for Tottenham and Barcelona target Raphinha

Raphinha-Leeds United

Arsenal are planning to make a £50 million bid for Leeds United winger Raphinha, according to reports.

The Times reported, the Gunners are eager to sign the Brazil international despite interest from Tottenham and Barcelona.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is a big fan of Raphinha, who has been one of the most consistent players for Leeds over the last two seasons. The Brazilian winger was instrumental as Jesse Marsch’s side avoided relegation, having scored eleven goals and provided three assists in the Premier League last season.

According to The Times, Arsenal are ready to bring him to the Emirates, which will pave the way for Nicolas Pepe to leave the club.

But the Gunners have a fight in their hands to bring Raphinha, given that their rivals are all playing in the Champions League. The North London side narrowly missed out on the top four last season but are determined to add to their squad as they look to get back into the Champions League.

They have already signed 19-year-old winger Marquinhos Sao Paulo, while another Brazilian could soon arrive at the club, with Arsenal determined to sign striker Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City.

Midfielder Fabio Vieira is also close to joining from FC Porto, while Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez is also being monitored.
