Bayern respond to Manchester United links with Kingsley Coman

Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman was linked with a move to Manchester United during the summer transfer window but the club’s sporting director has confirmed that they would never have allowed the winger to join the Premier League club.

Manchester United were initially looking at Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund but Coman was one of the alternatives they were considering. The likes of Douglas Costa and Dembele were linked with possible loan moves as well.

Coman is a top class talent who could be a sensational long-term addition to the Manchester United attack but it is evident that the German outfit rate him highly and they’re not willing to cash in on him anytime soon.

It will be interesting to see if Manchester United return for the top target Jadon Sancho when the transfer window reopens in January.

“There was nothing, and we wouldn’t have looked into it either. His goal in the Champions League final should explain enough why we are relying on him wholeheartedly,” the Allianz Arena chief told.

Manchester United need to improve their attacking options and the likes of Dan James are simply not good enough. The former Swansea ace has the pace to burn but he is technically not good enough to break down the deep defences with his passing or flair.

It will be interesting to see if new signing Edinson Cavani can help the side paper over the cracks until January now.
