Arsenal eyeing Lamptey

Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on Brighton full-back Tariq Lamptey, who has been excellent since moving from Chelsea earlier this year.

The Gunners have identified Lamptey as an alternative for Hector Bellerin, who has been subject to transfer interest from his former club Barcelona.

Mikel Arteta successfully held out Bellerin from leaving in the summer despite PSG interest but Barca’s presidential candidate Joan Laporta wants to sign the Spaniard should he win the election.

Lamptey is also said to be watched by Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich meanwhile, Brighton are trying to tie the 21-year-old to a new contract to fend off transfer interests.

Brandt identified as an alternative for Aouar

Arsenal have identified Borussia Dortmund playmaker Julian Brandt as the solution to their creative woes.

Furthermore, the Gunners have cooled their interest in long-time target Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar who they failed to sign in the summer.

Arteta’s side has been devoid of a creative outlet in the middle of the park following the exclusion of Mesut Ozil from the squad.

Brandt was impressive in his debut season at Signal Iduna Park but hasn’t been among goals or assists much this season.

Juventus turned down Mesut Ozil offer

Juventus have refused to sign Arsenal outcast Mesut Ozil for free in January albeit the North Londoners were reportedly willing to pay half of his salary.

The Bianconeri were offered the chance to sign the German playmaker, whose hefty wages has become a concern for the Gunners.
