Bayern Munich looking to bring Timo Werner back to Germany

Timo Werner-Chelsea

Chelsea striker Timo Werner is reportedly a target for German champions Bayern Munich.

The 25-year-old has struggled to adapt to the Premier League and he has failed to live up to the expectations at Chelsea since its £47 million move from RB Leipzig.

The Blues signed Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan for a club-record transfer fee earlier this summer and the German has now dropped down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Werner might have to leave the club in order to play regular first-team football and it seems that the Bavarian giants are prepared to provide him with an exit route.

The 25-year-old striker made quite a name for himself in the Bundesliga and he scored 28 goals in the league with RB Leipzig before leaving for Chelsea.

Bayern Munich could definitely use a quality striker to support Robert Lewandowski for now and then replace the Polish international in the long run.

Werner is undoubtedly a prodigious talent and despite the fact that he has struggled in the Premier League, he has the potential to develop into one of the best strikers in the world.

The striker scored just six goals in the Premier League for Chelsea last season and he bagged 11 across all competitions.

Apparently, Bayern Munich have internally discussed the idea of bringing Werner back to the Bundesliga and it will be interesting to see if they can strike an agreement with Chelsea.

A return to his comfort zone would be ideal for the player as well and he might be able to recapture his form and confidence with Bayern Munich.
