Borussia Dortmund keen on Hakim Ziyech

Hakim Ziyech-Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder Hakim Ziyech could be on his way out of the club when the transfer window reopens in January.

According to the Mirror, German side Borussia Dortmund are keen on signing the Moroccan international who has struggled to adapt to the Premier League so far.

Chelsea signed the midfielder from Ajax back in 2020 for a fee of around £33 million but he has not been able to replicate his form from Ajax.

The 28-year-old has scored just eight goals in 49 appearances for the Blues and he is struggling to hold down a regular starting berth under Thomas Tuchel.

It is evident that the player will have to leave Stamford Bridge in order to play regular first-team football and a move to Dortmund could be ideal for him.

The German outfit could certainly use more creativity in the final third and the signing of Ziyech could help create more chances for the Norwegian striker Erling Haaland.

Dortmund will be hoping to challenge for the Bundesliga title this season and they will need more reinforcements in order to match up to the likes of Bayern Munich.

Chelsea will probably be hoping to sell the player for a profit having spent £33 million on him and it remains to be seen whether Dortmund are willing to fork out a significant fee for the Moroccan.

Ziyech was an outstanding player for Ajax and he helped them reach the Champions League semi-finals a few seasons ago.

If he can recapture his confidence and form with Borussia Dortmund, he could transform the German side’s attack during the second half of the season.
