Bruno Fernandes could help Manchester United sign Raphinha this summer

Bruno Fernandes-Manchester United

Leeds United winger Raphinha has been linked with a move away from Elland Road for months now.

Apparently Spanish giants Barcelona are keen on signing the Brazilian international but the fact that Leeds have escaped relegation means that the winger could now cost a premium.

According to a report from the ExpressManchester United are also interested in signing Raphinha this summer and they could have an edge in the transfer case.

Apparently, the Brazilian has an exceptional relationship with the Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes and the two players are like brothers.

They played together at Sporting Lisbon and have a close relationship on and off the field.

It will be interesting to see if Fernandes can play a key role in convincing the Brazilian to move to Old Trafford instead of joining Barcelona.

The 25-year-old would be an exceptional long term acquisition for Manchester United.

He scored 11 goals and picked up 3 assists in the Premier League last year and the Red Devils could certainly use his creativity and goals from the wide areas.

Furthermore, Raphinha is well settled in the Premier League and he could make an immediate impact at Old Trafford next season.

Barcelona are going through a bit of a financial crisis right now and they could be easily priced out of a move this summer.

In the event of relegation, Raphinha would have been available for a fee of around £25m because of a clause in his contract. However, Leeds can now demand more than that from the player’s suitors and Manchester United are certainly in a better financial situation compared to the Spanish outfit.

It will be interesting to see where the player ends up eventually.
