Chelsea were off to a thumping start to the new Premier League season after thrashing Patrick Vieira’s men.

Chelsea have kick-started their Premier League campaign with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Crystal Palace.

The Blues dominated the proceedings from the off, and they got their opening goal around the half-hour mark, with Marcos Alonso netting a spectacular free-kick.

Christian Pulisic, who started in the attack, doubled the lead before the halftime whistle. The second half also wholly belonged to the home side, who constantly pushed Palace on the back foot.

Trevoh Chalobah, the Blues’ academy defender on his debut for Blues, made it 3-0 after a stunning strike from outside the box.

Chalobah’s spectacular Premier League debut

Chalobah repaid Thomas Tuchel’s faith for fielding him as a starter today as the Blues youngster put on an impressive display.

The 22-year-old started in the three-man defence, and he caught everyone’s eyes with a near-perfect display, which culminated in the winning goal.

After moving to Stamford Bridge in 2018, Chalobah has been loaned out for three consecutive seasons, with his most recent spell coming at Lorient.

Today, Tuchel handed the English U-21 star his maiden Premier League cap, and the first impression was nothing but extraordinary.

Alonso’s resurgence continues under Tuchel.

Marcos Alonso was seen as a fringe figure before Tuchel’s arrival as former manager Frank Lampard preferred Ben Chilwell as the starter.

The German manager helped Alonso reinvigorate his form, and as a result, the Spaniard excelled in the left-wing back role.

Today, Alonso showcased yet another fine display, constantly creating threat from the left flank and most importantly, he scored a stunning free-kick.

Vieira’s disappointing start at Palace.

Patrick Vieira didn’t have an impressive start in his first Premier League game as the Eagles manager succumbed to a heavy defeat.

Perhaps, Palace failed to create any potential danger, and as the Blues went on to add goals, Vieira looked out of the place. To surmise their struggles, Palace had only shot one shot on target compared to Chelsea’s six.
