Chelsea have secured an agreement with Inter Milan for the transfer of Romelu Lukaku.

The 28-year-old Belgian striker is set to cost around €115 million, and he will undergo his medical with the Premier League side on Sunday in Belgium.

As per the Athletic, the player is then expected to travel to London to complete the formalities of his move on Sunday night or Monday.

Chelsea had already agreed on personal terms with the player earlier this week.

This summer, the Blues desperately needed some attacking reinforcements, and Lukaku’s return to Stamford Bridge could not have been timed better.

The 28-year-old is in the form of his life right now, and he could make a big impact on Thomas Tuchel‘s attack.

The Belgian is likely to be a massive upgrade on Timo Werner, who struggled to showcase his talents last season.

It will be interesting to see how the arrival of Lukaku affects the German’s situation at Chelsea. Competition for places could push both players to perform at a high level next season, and the Blues will undoubtedly be feeling that their goal scoring problems are beyond them now.

Lukaku was in exceptional form for club and country last season. He managed to score 30 goals across all competitions for the Italian champions, and he was quite decisive for Belgium in the European Championships.

The reported €115 million fee makes him Chelsea’s record signing, and there will be massive expectations surrounding the player now.

The striker struggled during his previous spell at the London club, and it remains to be seen whether he can live up to the expectations this time around.
