Paris Saint Germain are closing in on the signing of Lionel Messi on a free transfer and his arrival but impact the future of Paul Pogba at Manchester United.

The French World Cup winner was heavily linked with a move to Paris this summer, but the signing of Messi could force PSG to end their interest in Pogba.

The French outfit have had a fantastic transfer window so far, and they have signed the likes of Gini Wijnaldum, Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi and Gianluigi Donnarumma.

It is highly unlikely that they will be able to afford Paul Pogba once Messi has signed his lucrative contract with them.

Furthermore, the French club are determined to extend Kylian Mbappe‘s contract, and that is likely to cost them a lot of money.

It will be interesting to see if Paul Pogba decides to sign a new deal with Manchester United after the latest developments.

The player is in the final year of his contract with the Red Devils, and the Premier League side will be desperate to tie him down to a new deal.

Manchester United will not want to lose a player of his calibre on a free transfer next summer.

Meanwhile, Pogba needs to sort out his long term future this summer as well, and the player could now be convinced to continue at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have shown great ambition in the transfer market so far, and the likes of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane could help Pogba realize his dreams at Old Trafford.
