Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel rules out a move for Robert Lewandowski

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has been linked with a move away from the Bundesliga this summer.

According to the latest reports, Spanish giants Barcelona are keen on signing him, but the player has been linked with a move to Chelsea as well.

Premier League giants Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has now opened up on the possibility of signing the former Borussia Dortmund striker.

The German manager revealed that Lewandowski is one of the best strikers in the world, but the possibility of moving to Stamford Bridge is unlikely.

Furthermore, he added that Chelsea are not prioritising the signing of a striker this summer.

The Blues recently parted ways with Romelu Lukaku, who returned to Inter Milan on a loan deal with an option to buy.

Chelsea are currently left with Timo Werner as their only striker, and the German international has not been at his best since joining the club from RB Leipzig.

Ideally, the Blues should look to bring in a proper goal scorer, and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few weeks.

Barcelona have been trying to sign the Polish international for weeks now, but they have not been able to agree on a fee with the German club.

The 33-year-old is one of the best players in the world, and he scored 50 goals across 46 matches last season.

There is no doubt that he would improve Barcelona immensely. Still, the Spanish giants are going through a bit of a financial crisis, and club chief Joan Laporta has recently admitted that the German club have not responded to Barcelona’s proposal for the player.

Meanwhile, other reports claim that an agreement is close between the two clubs, and the player could make his Barcelona debut against Real Madrid in El Clasico.

Chelsea certainly have more financial resources compared to the Spanish outfit. It’ll be interesting to see if they decide to make a late move for the Polish international striker and try to hijack his move to Camp Nou.
