Everton defender Lucas Digne has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park, and it appears that the likes of ChelseaNewcastle United and West Ham United are keen on securing his services.

According to a report from Sky Sports, Italian giants Napoli are keen on signing the 28-year-old as well, but they are looking to bring the player on loan for the remainder of the season with an option to buy.

Everton will only consider a permanent sale, and therefore a move to Napoli seems quite unlikely at this stage.

The Toffees have had a disastrous season so far, and a player of Digne’s calibre will want to play at a higher level. A move to Chelsea, Newcastle or West Ham would be ideal for the French defender.

Chelsea and West Ham will be able to offer him European football, and Newcastle have plenty of ambition after their multi-million-pound takeover.

All three clubs are capable of pulling off the transfer, and it remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done before the January transfer window closes.

Everton a demanding a fee of around £30 million for the French left-back.

Digne has firmly established himself as one of the best full-backs in the Premier League, and there is no doubt that he has the quality to justify the price tag.

The Everton defender is still only 28, and he has his peak years ahead of him. The Frenchman could prove to be a sensational acquisition for the two London clubs, and he could improve them instantly.
