Jorginho highlights Lampard inexperience

Frank Lampard was relieved of his duties as the Chelsea manager earlier in the season, and midfielder Jorginho believes that Lampard was way too inexperienced for the role.

Prior to his appointment at Chelsea, Lampard had only managed a Championship club in Derby County, and he hardly had any success with them.

There is no doubt that Lampard will probably get better with experience, but the Chelsea game came too soon for him.

Jorginho told: “Look, I’ll be really sincere here on Lampard. I believe, given he was a legend at the club, he skipped some steps necessary for learning before moving to a big club.”

“He came to a club where he is a legend, without having experience at other clubs. I think he came too soon, skipped a few steps ahead and wasn’t ready for a job at this level, to be honest.”

Werner on Lampard issues

Meanwhile, Timo Werner revealed that he had a language issue when Frank Lampard was the Chelsea manager.

Apparently, he found it difficult to understand instructions, and he’s far more comfortable with Thomas Tuchel in charge now.

He said: “For you guys (the hosts) when you come from America to London or England is much easier because it’s the same language.

“German is completely different to English. We learned it in school, but it’s always hard to understand.

“For example, when we had Lampard as the manager before, everything was in English, but now (under Tuchel) it’s more in German as well, so it’s easier for me.

“To understand everything at the beginning was not easy.”

Werner says the attackers are happy despite exit rumours

Timo Werner has also shared his thoughts on Thomas Tuchel’s rotation policy.

The likes of Tammy Abraham, Olivier Giroud and Timo Werner have not had a sustained run in the side since the arrival of the German manager who has chosen to try different combinations for different games.

However, Werner believes that the rotation has helped the players play in their best positions, and it has kept everyone happy.

The likes of Abraham and Giroud have been linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge into the lack of game time, and Werner’s revelation is certainly surprising.

He said: “Sometimes we play with a 10 and two strikers, sometimes we play with one striker and two 10s behind, sometimes with three strikers. So it’s very different how we play. I think it fits us very well.

“It gives us a little bit of rotation in our squad that everybody is happy and everybody can play in their best positions.”
