Torres tells his compatriot Saul to sign for the Reds.
Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez‘s exit reports have been circulating in recent weeks, with Barcelona reportedly being in pole position.
The Catalan club had proposed a straight swap deal between Antoine Griezmann and Saul, which would see the former return to Wanda Metropolitano.
However, recent reports state that Bara could call off the deal as they don’t want to sell the French man to a rival club, keeping Luis Suarez’s transfer mistake in mind, and their only intention of selling Griezmann is to ease the wage bill.
It has now opened the door for Premier League clubs, who have been keeping tabs on Saul.
Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly being considered as potential suitors for the Spaniard should he move to England.
Now, Saul’s former Atletico teammate Torres, who also represented the Reds and Chelsea, has reportedly told him to seal a move to Anfield.
It comes as quite a surprise that the legendary striker has advised Saul to favour a move to the Red over the Blues, although he had spent considerable years at both clubs during his career.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently looking for a midfielder following the departure of Georginio Wijnaldum to PSG.
They have so far been linked with Youri Tielemans of Leicester City and Portuguese youngster Renato Sanches – both are said to be the priorities.
It remains to be seen whether they will sign Saul, who is keen on a move away from Atletico this summer.
