Jorginho insists he wants to stay at Chelsea amid links to Lazio and Juventus

Jorginho-Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has insisted he wants to remain at the club amid speculation linking him with a move this summer.

The Italy international’s current deal at the club expires next year, and he has been linked to a move away from the club this summer. Even his agent Joao Santos has often spoken about his client’s desire to return to the Serie A at some point in his career, increasing the speculation that he will leave this season.

According to several reports, Thomas Tuchel’s side is happy to move Jorginho this summer amid interest from former boss Maurizio Sarri, who is now at Lazio, as well as long-term admirers Juventus. The Blues do not want to lose the Euro 2020 winner for nothing next season and will be happy if the right offer comes in this summer.

However, despite this, the player’s agent recently claimed that a stay at Stamford Bridge was the priority for Jorginho this season. And now the player himself has come out to validate that claim.

“Of course, I love Chelsea,” he told the club’s official website. “I feel very well here and, of course, I’d like to stay.

“But you know, there is a lot going on and we don’t know. I am here now and I have a contract and I love to be here. I feel very well here. So I don’t think about moving anywhere.”

He continued: “For many years now [there’s speculation]. Every single year. I don’t think like this. I just think about where I am and focus 100 per cent. I’m at Chelsea and I think about Chelsea 100 per cent.

“The motivation is that I do what I love. This was my dream and so the motivation is that I do what I dreamed of when I was a kid.

“I dreamt that I could win – and so if I win the same title, it is still special. I motivate myself to work hard, push hard every single day because I do what I love.”
