Jose Mourinho and Jurgen Klopp lavish praise on each other ahead of Liverpool vs Tottenham

Mourinho-Klopp-Tottenham-Liverpool

Tottenham take on Liverpool in the Premier League this week and Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on Jose Mourinho for the work he has done at the London club so far.

Tottenham are in outstanding form right now and they are at the top of the Premier League table.

The Liverpool manager claims that Tottenham are a complete package under Mourinho right now.

The Reds have the same number of points as starting him in the League and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top this week.

The Liverpool manager said: “I don’t think you can compare the last game with Man United with the way they are playing now. That is obviously, from a confidence level, completely different for both teams. José Mourinho has been successful for a very long time in the football business and he has played pretty much all different systems and different styles.

“As a coach, you have to adapt to the quality you have and the idea you have and that is one of the best skills of José Mourinho. In the end, it is all about getting the results and that is the best skill of José because in the decisive moments he is not bothered about style, it is just about the result and that makes him the most successful manager around at the moment.

“I respect him a lot. Has he reinvented himself? I don’t know. It looks a little bit like that when you see him on Instagram, or at least that part of him, but I think he is just so experienced and smart that he knows what he has to do. He asked at the beginning for time and I think that has paid off.”

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho has also praised Liverpool and he claims that the Reds are a result machine under the German manager right now.

He said: “I am the same guy, nothing changed, it’s just perception. Jurgen says that because if you look to our results this season, we lost one in the Premier League and we lost one in the Europa League so our results are very positive.

“But I think it’s too early, and the period of good results is about a few months and a results machine, of course, is much more than that. A result machine is what Liverpool has been for the past couple of years, a result machine was what my Chelsea was in the period we won the two consecutive titles.”

The Tottenham manager also commented on Liverpool’s injury situation and claimed that Virgil van Dijk is the only real miss for Liverpool and that every other club is dealing with an injury issue this season.

He pointed out that most of Liverpool’s starters from the title-winning season will be available for this week’s clash.

Despite what Mourinho believes, there is no doubt that Liverpool have been plagued with injuries this season and no other club has had to play without as many quality players as the Reds so far this season.
