Tottenham’s reign under Jose Mourinho has been quite underwhelming as the Portugues gaffer had failed to drive his side to a top-four finish. Although Spurs will not enjoy the European football next season, they capped off the season on a high note – no single defeats in last six Premier League games – with many positives to consider.

Mourinho has been let down by lack of signings in the winter transfer window, which had its effect on Tottenham’s results. Here are five players – existing ones and summer targets- the former manchester united need to bring back the North London club to winning ways.

Pierre-Emile Hojberg

The Southampton midfielder is reportedly running high on Spurs’ transfer wishlist, and a summer transfer could be on the cards. Hojberg is someone Mourinho can benefit from in the long run. The 26-year-old has enough top-flight experience and is known for his leadership skills – something Mourinho is missing at the moment. The Danish midfield is an efficient ball winner but also good at conducting plays from the deep. He can be an upgrade over both Harry Winks and Eric Dier.
