Liverpool boss looking to find a solution for African Nations Cup-bound Salah and Mane

Jurgen Klopp reaction, after Liverpool won Premier League

The duo will feature in the African Nations Cup next year, meaning that the Reds will miss their services for a month.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is looking to find a solution for Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, who are bound to play in the African Nations Cup in January.

The Reds are likely to miss the services of Mane and Salah for around a month as they will represent Senegal and Egypt respectively.

It will leave the Merseyside outfit in a tricky situation as the star duo has been certain starters over the course.

However, Klopp insists that the club will look to find a solution for their absence but added that short-term alternatives wouldn’t be helpful either.

The German manager said: “We knew it (Salah and Mane’s absences), we have to deal with it and we will deal with it. How? We will see in January.

“People now say we have to sign two strikers with the same quality of Sadio and Mo.

“That cannot be a solution as we cannot do that, so we have to find a solution for that in January.”

The Reds were criticised for their quiet summer transfer window despite knowing beforehand that they would have to deal with the absence of Salah and Mane in January.

However, Klopp repeatedly insisted that the club doesn’t have to spend big while taking a dig at the highest spenders like Manchester United, Man City and Chelsea.

Liverpool’s form has been impressive so far in the Premier League this season, winning twice and drawing against Chelsea. Salah has two goals and two assists to his name.
