Liverpool eyeing a move for Robert Lewandowski

Robert Lewandowski-Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has been linked with a move away from the German club at the end of this season and Liverpool are thought to be keen on securing his services.

The 33-year-old Polish international is undoubtedly the best striker in the world right now and he would be a sensational addition to Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The Liverpool manager has worked with Lewandowski during their time together at Borussia Dortmund and he was integral to the player’s development back then.

Lewandowski has always been vocal about his admiration for the Liverpool manager and it will be interesting to see if he is reunited with the German at Anfield next season.

The Reds need to bring in a quality goal scorer to replace Roberto Firmino and Lewandowski is as good as they come.

Firmino has regressed over the past year and the Brazilian is no longer a regular starter for the Reds.

Portuguese international Diogo Jota has taken his place in the starting lineup but the 24-year-old is more suited to a wide role.

Apparently, the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United are keeping tabs on the player’s situation as well and it remains to be seen whether Liverpool can fend off the competition from their Premier League rivals and secure Lewandowski’s signature in the summer.

The Polish forward has won every trophy at club level with Bayern Munich and he has nothing left to prove in the Bundesliga.

A move to the Premier League would represent an ideal challenge for him at this stage of his career and he could be tempted to join a club of Liverpool’s stature in the near future.
