Liverpool looking to offer a new deal to Diogo Jota

Diogo Jota-Liverpool

Liverpool forward Diogo Jota signed for the club back in 2020 for a fee of £41m, and he has become a key member of Jurgen Klopp’s squad since then.

The 25-year-old scored 21 goals across all competitions and helped the Reds win the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup last season. Jota has been a consistent performer for Liverpool, and he has a massive future ahead of him.

According to Dominic King, the Reds are now prepared to reward him for his performances with a new contract. The journalist claims that Liverpool have been in talks with his representatives for quite some time now, and a new deal could be agreed upon soon.

Jota is still relatively young and has yet to reach his peak. Undoubtedly, he will improve further with game time and coaching.

The Portuguese international could be a stalwart for Liverpool in the years to come.

Tying him down to a new deal seems like a wise decision, and the fans will be delighted with the development. Jota is currently sidelined with an injury, but he is expected to return to action later this month.

Recently, the Reds also agreed on a new deal with star forward Mohamed Salah

Salah, Jota and new signing Darwin Núñez are set to be the core of Liverpool’s attack for the foreseeable future.

It will be interesting to see if the Reds can challenge for the Premier League title and the Champions League in the upcoming season.
