Liverpool make contact to sign Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland-Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has been linked with a move away from the German club for a while now and the player was a target for Premier League giants Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

Apparently, the Blues were willing to pay £150 million to sign him this season but Dortmund refused to sell him for any price.

According to reports, the player is on the radar of Premier League giants Liverpool as well and the Reds have held talks with the player’s agent Mino Raiola in recent months.

Haaland is undoubtedly the most exciting attacking prospect across Europe right now and he is likely to cost massive money.

Apart from an astronomical fee, the Reds will have to shell out massive wages in order to lure the player to Anfield and it remains to be seen whether they are prepared to break the bank for the Norwegian international.

Apparently, the player’s agent Mino Raiola wants his client to be one of the highest-paid players in world football and Liverpool will have to shatter their wage structure in order to accommodate his salary.

Haaland has been in exceptional form for Borussia Dortmund since joining the German club and he would be the quality long term replacement for Roberto Firmino.

The Brazilian striker has regressed over the past year and Liverpool will have to bring in a quality goal scorer as soon as possible.

With the likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City all reportedly keen on the player it will be interesting to see if the Reds can fend off the competition and secure his services next summer.
