Romelu Lukaku’s agent claims that the Chelsea striker will return to Serie A.

Romelu Lukaku sealed a sensational transfer from Inter Milan to Chelsea for a record deal in the summer.

The Belgian established himself as one of the best strikers in Europe at Nerazzurri and manager Antonio Conte played a big role in his development.

Now, Lukaku’s agent Federico Pastorello has claimed that the striker is interested in returning to Italy in future.

Lukaku’s agent said (h/t The Daily Mail): “One day we will see Lukaku back in Serie A, because he loves Italy. But now it’s time for Chelsea to enjoy Romelu.”

Pastorella also revealed that Lukaku was a top target for the Blues during Conte’s reign before he joined Manchester United.

The Belgian’s representative added (h/t Football Italia): “I was the architect of Antonio Conte’s move to Chelsea and after the Premier League victory, he wanted Lukaku.

“Romelu was playing for Everton at that time. I met him and told him that Conte would have been the ideal coach for him, but he picked Manchester United.

“After one year, once he had left his previous agent, he called me with a new number. He told me that everything I had told him the first time we met, had become real. So he wanted me to become his new agent.”

Pastorella also added that Juventus were keen on Lukaku’s transfer before his transfer to Inter, while the player also held talks with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Pastorella added: “The deal with Manchester United was on hold because Zhang (Inter President) didn’t want to meet United’s demands.

“United had an agreement with Juventus who would have bought Dybala and Mandzukic, Romelu had already spoken to Sarri and Cristiano Ronaldo.

“We managed to convince Zhang to raise the offer and I think his transfer shifted the balance in Italy, will all the respect due to his former teammates.”

Despite impressing in the first few weeks, Lukaku has suffered a dip in performances at Stamford Bridge. The 28-year-old has scored 5 goals in all competitions for the Blues this season. He returned to the scoresheet after a long time during Chelsea’s draw against Zenit in the Champions League
