Lyon club is close to signing the 22-year-old Netherlands international. But Manchester United agreed to steal the midfielder in a £15.7m deal. West Ham United were also reportedly trying to sign Malacia.

According to The GuardianFeyenoord accepted the proposal of €15m plus €2m in add-ons. However, Feyenoord’s technical director Frank Arnesen said it is up to Tyrell Malacia to confirm his desire.

Arnesen said, “The agreement is there. We are now waiting for Tyrell. If he says yes, then a transfer to Manchester United is imminent.”

The 22-year-old Netherlands international has played 136 times for Feyenoord, after his successful debut in the Netherlands last September and has five caps under former United manager Louis van Gaal.

Interestingly, Frenkie de Jong and Malacia share the same agent. Therefore, that is a plus point for Manchester Utd to sign the two players smoothly. The Barcelona midfielder was targeted by United’s manager, Erik ten Hag. And that will be a great start for the pre-season training at Old Trafford if they successfully move both of the promising players. The talks are progressing well, and the initial price could be €65m (£56.1m), with add-ons taking the price to about €85m.
