United play down Haaland transfer in search of two priorities

Manchester United looked to have pulled out of the transfer race of Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland as they prioritise signing a right-winger and a centre-back.

It could be also due to the Norwegian’s valuation, which could exceed £150 if he seals a transfer this summer.

The Red Devils are understood to be one of the potential suitors for Haaland, whom they failed to sign last summer.

Now, United are said to be in the market for a new centre-back who can partner Harry Maguire in the defence. The right-winger slot is currently occupied by Mason Greenwood and Daniel James, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to strengthen that position.

De Gea eyed by three clubs

Man Utd are reportedly looking for a life without David de Gea, who appears to have lost his place to impressive Dean Henderson.

Having been untouchable over the last decade, The Spaniard’s position is now under threat after he was forced on the bench against Brighton to allow Henderson to continue his impressive form.

De Gea is also looking for an exit from Old Trafford this season as United have placed a price tag of £50m.

It is reported that three European giants are interested in hiring the service of Spanish veteran. Spanish giants Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are interested in recruiting the Spanish shot-stopper while PSG are said to be keeping tabs on him. Real Madrid are after the Spaniard for more than a decade, as they initially planned de Gea to succeed Iker Casillas.

De Gea took paternity leave last month and in the meantime, Henderson enjoyed a great run of games. Fans are scrutinising every words Manchester United staffs are uttering on this subject.
