The Bayern Munich defender is expected to make a move to the Premier League.

Manchester United could probably sign Bayern Munich defender David Alaba after the Champions League.

As per reports, the Austrian defender has been tipped to make a switch to the Premier League in the coming weeks, with both Man Utd and Chelsea keeping tabs on him.

It was previously reported that Alaba is reluctant to sign a new contract with the Bavarians, who are ready to sell him for a considerable fee.

The Red Devils are also in the market for a new central defender, and they could end up signing the 28-year-old. Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes is another option for United.

Alaba, who is entering the final season of his current deal, has enjoyed a good season with Bayern, who will be facing Lyon in the Champions League semi-finals.

The Austrian international has been converted into a central defender by Hans-Dieter Flick this season while his preferred left-back slot is taken by the rising star Alphonso Davies.

Elsewhere, Chelsea, who are planning for defensive reinforcements, could provide healthy competition for the Red Devils.

Man Utd recently suffered a defeat against Sevilla in the Europa League semi-finals, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has wound up the season without any single trophy.

Alaba would be an upgrade over the current crop of Man Utd defenders as Solskjaer can benefit from his ball-carrying and distribution abilities.

It remains to be seen which of Man Utd and Chelsea could afford to sign Alaba.
