Manchester United Update: Solskjaer set for a new deal, Wolves winger linked

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer-Manchester United

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer  new deal

Manchester United are prepared to hand Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a new contract at the end of this season.

According to reports, the club are confident that the team has progressed under the management of the Norwegian and they’re willing to extend his stay at Old Trafford. The report suggests that Manchester United will pay from Solskjaer £7.5million to £10m-per-year on a new two-year deal, with an option of a further 12 months extension.

The decision is unlikely to change even if Manchester United failed to win a trophy this season.

The Red Devils are currently second in the Premier League table to see if they can end the season strongly and win some silverware.

Solskjaer is set to be awarded a new three-year contract, likely to be two years plus the option of an extra one. Under the terms of the new deal, Solskjaer is likely to see his salary rise from £7.5million to £10m-a-year.

Pedro Neto pursuit

Meanwhile, the Premier League giants are keen on signing the Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Pedro Neto.

Manchester United are hoping that Bruno Fernandes can help them sign the highly talented winger from their Premier League rivals this summer.

Neto has been excellent for Wolves since joining the club and it will be interesting to see if the Manchester United midfielder can lure his compatriot to Old Trafford.

Neto is unlikely to come cheap and Manchester United will have to shell out premium if they want to sign him this summer.

Manchester United need to sign a quality winger at the end of the season. They were heavily linked with Jadon Sancho last summer but the move never materialized.

Currently, Solskjaer is using his attackers Martial and Rashford in the wide areas and Neto would be a specialist option for the Red Devils. He will add flair, creativity and goals to the side. Furthermore, he is an excellent passer of the ball from the wide areas and he would add a new dimension to the Manchester United attack.

Man Utd could make a £50 million summer move for Pedro Neto, according to the Sun
