Manchester United

After overcoming their COVID-19 scare, Manchester United will play in the Premier League this weekend when they welcome Brighton to Old Trafford.

Ralf Rangnick’s side will look to extend their current six-game unbeaten streak in all competitions (W4, D2). In their three games under the interim manager, United have scored just one goal per game. But that has not stopped them from picking up two wins in the league in that period.

Their most recent outing saw them snatch a vital three points from Norwich last weekend. That result means that the hosts are now two points behind the top four.

They will be desperate for all three points as they can enter into the top four if they win this game.

However, the Old Trafford side are slow starters as they are the only team yet to score in the opening 15 minutes of play in the league this season.

Possible Manchester United starting line-ups

David de Gea; Diogo Dallot, Harry Maguire, Eric Bailly, Alex Telles; Fred, Scott McTominay; Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford; Cristiano Ronaldo.

Injured: Paul Pogba, Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Rafael Varane, Edinson Cavani.

Doubtful: Anthony Martial, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata.

Suspended: None

Brighton

Brighton would look to make the most of their depleted squad when they travel to Old Trafford this weekend, looking for their first win in 12 games.

Graham Potter’s side have gone from top-four contenders to relegation material in the space of two months, having failed to pick up three points in a game since September 27.

Before that run, the Seagulls were on a run of six wins in seven games and were even occupying a place in the top four. But things have since gone sour at the AMEX Stadium and the visitors come into this tie sitting 13th place.

They are nine points ahead of the relegation zone but cannot continue to drop points at their current rate.

A win here will be of importance to them as they will be confident of getting a result here judging by their away form. Graham Potter’s men have been more efficient on the road, recording 11 of their 20 points away from home.

Possible Brighton starting line-ups

Robert Sanchez; Tariq Lamptey Joel Veltman, Dan Burn, Marc Cucurella; Yves Bissouma, Enock Mwepu, Jakub Moder; Leandro Trossard, Aaron Connolly, Solomon March.

Injured: Lewis Dunk, Adam Webster, Danny Welbeck, Pascal Groß, Jeremy Sarmiento.

Doubtful: Neal Maupay.

Suspended: None
