Milan weren’t given a chance to sleep on the lead as Benevento often created some clear-cut chances, with Lapadula and Fabio Depaoli looking dangerous.
So were Stefano Piloi’s side, who broke out free on several counter-attacks, but failed to make any attempt count. Perhaps, Benevento’s goalkeeper Lorenzo remained rock solid throughout the game, making a flurry of saves including the one against Zlatan Ibrahimovic right before half-time.

The second half saw Theo Hernandez get the second goal as the French man latched on to the rebound from Motipo, with Zlatan forcing the initial save.
Benevento looked as if they weren’t giving up soon despite trailing Milan and it was one of the factors that helped the underdogs stun Juventus in a historic win.
The win has allowed Milan to go ahead of Atalanta to second place, and their Champions League dreams could very well be imminent.
Rossoneri is having a mixed season as their early dominance had been marred by a string of poor results from the start of this year.
However, Pioli would be looking for a decent finish to this season by aiming for as high as second place.
