Newcastle United were held to a 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League earlier tonight.
Jamaal Lascelles scored the opening goal of the game for Newcastle United in the 52nd minute but it was cancelled out by Ruben Neves in the 73rd minute.
The Magpies started the game brightly with the likes of Isaac Hayden and Miguel Almiron coming close to scoring early on in the first half.
Hayden had his header saved by Rui Patricio and Almiron hit the post with a curling effort.
Newcastle winger Allan Saint-Maximin managed to put the ball in the net but his goal was ruled out for offside.
Steve Bruce’s side continued to fight for the winner despite conceding late on in the second half. Newcastle had a great opportunity on the 81st minute when Joelinton had his shot cleared off the goal line.
Meanwhile, Wolverhampton Wanderers had a late chance as well but Martin Dubravka produced a sensational save on his return to the first team as Fabio Silva saw his header tipped onto the crossbar.
Newcastle United are now 17th in the League table with 26 points and Wolverhampton Wanderers are 12th with 34 points.
The Magpies will be disappointed to have dropped two points after the performance they put on and they will be hoping to pull further clear of the drop zone in the coming weeks.
