Reds want Marco Asensio

Liverpool are looking to improve their attacking options during the January transfer window and they are keen on signing the Real Madrid playmaker Marco Asensio.

According to a report from Spanish outlet ABC, the 25-year-old Spanish international is unhappy with the situation at Real Madrid and his relationship with manager Carlo Ancelotti has broken down.

Previously regarded as one of the finest young talents to have come through the Real Madrid set-up, Asensio has struggled to establish himself as a key starter for the club and he needs to move on in search of regular game time.

The 25-year-old is undoubtedly a quality player but he needs a manager who will trust in him and let him showcase his qualities on a weekly basis.

The player has been linked with a move to Liverpool in the past as well and it appears that Jurgen Klopp is an admirer of the Spaniard.

Asensio has a contract with Real Madrid until the summer of 2023 and Liverpool could snap him up for a reasonable price next summer.

Manchester City join Mateo Fernandez race

Meanwhile, Manchester City have joined the race to sign the Spanish teenager Mateo Joseph Fernandez.

The 17-year-old Espanyol forward has attracted interest from Leeds United, Liverpool, Barcelona and Arsenal as well.

Apparently, the player is valued at £1.2 million according to Daily Mail.

Fernandez is highly talented and he has the potential to develop into a top-class player in future. If the likes of Manchester City can snap him up right now he could prove to be a bargain signing in the long run.

Arsenal keen on Sardar Azmoun

Arsenal are thought to be keen on adding more depth to their attack and they are considering a move for the Zenit St Petersburg forward Sardar Azmoun (via Team Talk).

French international striker Alexandre Lacazette has been linked with a move away from Arsenal for months now and he will be a free agent next summer.

The Gunners will need to replace the Frenchman and the Iranian international could prove to be a quality addition.

Azmoun scored 19 goals in 24 league matches last season and he could form a quality partnership alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The player was linked with a move to Tottenham during the summer transfer window but he decided to continue with the Russian club instead.
