The former goalkeeper says Jurgen Klopp’s system requires physical prowess to thrive.

Rob Green has deemed Tottenham‘s system under Jose Mourinho as more sustainable than Jurgen Klopp‘s Liverpool.

Both the sides have been dominating the Premier League this season and already touted as the favourites for the title whilst Liverpool being the defending champions.

The Reds and Spurs faced off last week and it was the former one who emerged victorious to claim the top spot in the Premier League table.

Spurs were disappointed with the result after holding onto the leader’s position for quite some time.

Former goalkeeper Green has had his say on the tactics of both the managers, calling Mourinho’s system as a more sustainable one.

“For Liverpool, the requirements of the energy in a season like this season is so great and so vast just to create that number of chances.

“The energy they [Liverpool] use in the space of a game compared to Tottenham where realistically you’re asking two maybe three players to sacrifice themselves physically to get up there.

“They weren’t attacking in seven or eight numbers like Liverpool were. I think it’s more sustainable for Tottenham but it’s just less attractive.”

Mourinho’s Spurs are a surprise package this season after enduring a fluctuating season last term.

The Portuguese gaffer has benefitted from a well-drilled unit, with Harry Kane and Heung-min Son leading the attack. The pair have shared a plethora of goals between them this season after finding the nets nearly every weekend in the Premier League.
