Chelsea completed the signing of Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan earlier this summer and the Belgian has revealed that his head was no longer with the Italian club once he found out that the Blues were serious about signing him.

According to the striker, Chelsea submitted a third offer of around €110 million along with Davide Zappacosta but Inter Milan turned the Premier League side down.

Lukaku had to take matters into his own hands and he informed Simone Inzaghi that he wants to leave the club because of his attachment with the Blues.

Lukaku has played for Chelsea in the past but he never quite managed to showcase his true potential at Stamford Bridge and he was sold off.

The 28-year-old has developed into a world-class player since then.

Lukaku managed to score 30 goals across all competitions for Inter Milan last season and he helped them win the Scudetto as well.

The Belgian clearly feels that he has unfinished business at Stamford Bridge and it will be interesting to see if he can prove his worth to Chelsea this season.

Lukaku has made an impressive start to life at Chelsea so far and he managed to score an important goal against London rivals Arsenal on his Premier League debut.

Chelsea managed to win the Champions League last season and they will be desperate to launch a proper title challenge this time around.

Thomas Tuchel had an impressive squad at his disposal at the start of this summer but the Blues were missing a clinical goal scorer like Lukaku.

The Belgian’s arrival has certainly added more quality and sharpness to Chelsea’s play in the final third and the Blues are now one of the frontrunners to win the Premier League title this season.
