Mikel Oyarzabal put the hosts ahead from a spot-kick after Busquets fouled Diego Llorente inside the box, but Antoine Griezmann equalized with a clinical finish after 25-meter run, against his former club.
Luis Suarez then put Barca ahead from Lionel Messi’s unselfish pass.
But Alexander Isak equalized as he fired home after Marc-Andre ter Stegen parried Nacho Monreal’s cross-shot.
Real Sociedad were looked like better team than Barcelona, as they finished ahead of the Catalan team in terms of Possession and number of attempts. Real Sociedad had 54% possession and 19 shots against Barca’s nine. Martin Odegaard, on loan from Real Madrid, was a key influence on the game although none of his five shots were on target.
