Seven new-signing targets for Jose Mourinho during next transfer-market

The main contention during discussion of Jose Mouriho as Tottenham Manager was his propensity towards acquiring big talent. Tottenham and its boss Daniel Levy are always looking for home-grown talent from their academy.

Speaking at his first press conference as Spurs boss, Mourinho said: “I don’t need players. I don’t need players. I am so happy with what I have.
“I just need time to understand them better and know everything about them because I always say you only know a player when you work with them.

“Of course, how many times have I watched these guys, how many times have I played against them?
“I knew them well but never knew them well enough until you work with them, and my gift is this squad because the squad is very, very good.”

Till January many things can change. As many in the squad, have their contracts to expire in couple of months and given, the rumoured situation in the dressing room, the special one would be prepared, for sure, to look out for talent.

Gareth Bale | Real Madrid | Age-32

Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has suggested Gareth Bale join Tottenham Hotspur, instead of a possible China move. He thinks playing under Mourinho for another three-four years, should be incentive enough to consider this seriously.

This is touted as a significant win for both Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and for Mourinho to win back fans with this shock recruitment.
.
Bale, who has Transfermarkt value at £54m now, appears to be at the endpoint at Real, making just six La Liga appearances this season.
Several Madrid fans have hit out at his behaviour following Wales’ win.

Paulo Dybala | Juventus | Age-26

Tottenham, came so close to securing Paulo Dybala from Juventus, only to miss out on deadline day. Possessing the effortless skill that has always been admired by all, Dybala would be an asset to any team.

Spurs fans had seen the mercurial attacker first hand when he combined with Gonzalo Higuain to knock Pochettino’s side out of the Champions League two years back.

26 year old has clubs like PSG, Manchester United and even Real Madrid interested in him. Last summer, a swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku was called off at the last moment.

Though Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici admitted that the club were still hoping to offload Dybala with the arrival of Sarri, things might be very different in Turin now.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic | No Club | Age-38

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been linked with a Tottenham move after his stint with LA Galaxy for almost two years. Ibra, who is close to the new Spur boss and worked together in Milan and Manchester, may join him in London.
A short term move to north London could be ideal for both parties as Spurs look to resurrect their season. It suitable for Jose, as he would get a strong and no-nonsense personality in the dressing room. For Ibra, he will get another opportunity at the very top level of football with a person known to him, at the helm.

Bruno Fernandez | Sporting Lisbon | Age-25

Tottenham were reportedly ready to bring the Portuguese international to North London in August last year, provided they can sell Christian Eriksen. The 25-year-old, who scored 32 goals from midfield for Sporting Lisbon last season, already has seven goals and five assists to his name this season.

Rated at £65million, Fernandes, who was previously linked to Manchester United, Liverpool and many others, could be the man to bolster Tottenham Hotspur.

Kalidou Koulibaly | Napoli | Age-28

Mourinho, as people suggest, always prioritize his team’s defence over anything. Toby Alderweireld, a target for Jose at United, have uncertain future as his contract is due to expire. While 32 tear old, Jan Vertonghen is yet to secure place in starting eleven.

Koulibaly, at 28, could be available for reasonably cheaper than the £95million bid Mourinho submitted during his time at Old Trafford which was rejected.

Ruben Dias | Benfica | Age-22

The Portuguese defender is said to be a favourite of his compatriot, and Mourinho is apparently keen to strengthen what he considers a shaky Spurs defence.

The 22-year-old shares the same agent as Mourinho, Jorge Mendes, that could be crucial in luring Dias from Benfica.

Nemanja Matic | Manchester United | Age-31

Nemanja Matic, who has been frozen out at Old Trafford under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, received several interests from clubs like West Ham and Atletico Madrid in recent time. The Serb has made just four Premier League appearances this season and Solskjaer believes he lacks the mobility to get around the pitch nowadays.

Mourinho persuaded the then Benfica star to return to Chelsea in 2014. The pair then joined forces again at United in the summer of 2017. Recently he has hinted that he could be open to a possible reunion with Jose Mourinho at Tottenham.
