John Terry lauds Chelsea-target Declan Rice as the best

Former Chelsea defender John Terry has told director Marina Granovskaia to go all out for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, according to Football London.

The English midfielder recently put on an impressive display in the Hammers’ stunning win over Liverpool in the Premier League.

Rice has been one of the best midfielders in Europe over the last two seasons and he also showed his brilliance for the Three Lions in Euro 2020.

The 24-year-old is understood to be a transfer target of Chelsea and Manchester City, with Hammers valuing him around £100m.

Amid the speculations, Blues legend Terry has called Rice the best player in the world at his position following his stunning performance against the Reds.

Terry wrote on his Twitter: “Declan Rice is the best in his position in world football. What a player.”

Blues plan to end the loan spell of Saul

Saul has so far experienced a frustrating loan spell at Stamford Bridge since moving from Atletico Madrid in the summer.

According to Marca, the Blues are planning to terminate his loan spell in January, with the Spaniard failing to fit in Thomas Tuchel’s plans.

However, Atletico have denied there is no clause in the deal that would Saul return to Spain before the end of this season.

The 26-year-old has been reportedly disappointed with the lack of game time at Chelsea.

A report from the Sun read: “This is not quite what Saul was expecting. He is not stupid and doesn’t think he should play in every game, he knows it might take time to get used to English football.

“But when he hardly plays in the Premier League, how can he adapt? He has come from a big club and has played in big games before. He wants to show he can handle it.”
